In Search of my Hip Bones

Okay, so it's been a long road in search of my hip bones. If there's a diet out there that I haven't tried, it's because I didn't know about it. Honestly, I would try anything. And nothing worked. Until I started eating low carb, that is. I quickly lost 50 pounds and then BOOM. No more. Nothing. I THOUGHT that I was doing all of the same things. And I was. It's just that I was doing all of the same things along with being me….which meant that I was creative and fun.

I joined low carb groups. Hahaha. Correction, I joined EVERY low carb group. And that meant that I began talking to other people to see what they were doing. Being the social butterfly that I am, I found lots of people that were losing on low carb. Or at least, I thought that they were.

The people that I was talking to were the cooks and the creatives. They showed me how to make enchiladas out of egg whites and psyllium husks. I can make a fantastic cheesecake with a pecan and macadamia crust that you would NEVER BELIEVE is low carb. I made a Pumpkin Roll with Chesecake filling for Christmas that you'd die for. And yet, I had stopped losing weight.

It's obvious to me now that I was playing in the land of maintenance and thinking that I could lose weight. I cannot. Other people might be able to, but I have to go way low on the carb scale to keep the scale moving in the right direction.

If you're wondering, I haven't found my hip bones yet. But I will. And this is the journey that I've chosen to find them.
